#NavotaAs #AngatPaNavotas #LetsBeTheBest

"A few years ago, we envisioned having a hospital of our own. Our city government did not want to build a mere facility that treats patients. We wanted it to offer quality services, services that are at par with private hospitals".
- Mayor John Reynald "John Rey" Tiangco

Our city’s health is our city’s wealth! Let’s be the best when it comes to health care, Navoteños!
- Congressman Tobias "Toby" Tiangco

Our Story

MANILA, Philippines — The first hospital in Navotas City is on track to open early 2014.

In 2014, in an interview, Navotas Mayor John Rey Tiangco confirmed that the hospital, to be operated by the city government, could be completed late this year and opened to the public next year. The city government has allocated P225 million for building the hospital, the first medical facility to be built in the small coastal city. Article continues after this advertisement Tiangco said the funds for the construction came in 2011 after the city government auctioned off a number of abandoned power barges docked at the Navotas fish port, after its owner failed to pay tax arrears to the city government.

In 2018, the city government began construction of the NCH extension to cater to more Navoteños in need of medical treatment and health services. Upon completion, it will increase the hospital’s bed capacity from 50 to 120, with 15 intensive care unit (ICU) beds.

In 2022, “The hospital will have a capacity of 50 beds and of course, it will serve primarily our 250,000 residents,” he said. Mayor John Rey Tiangco, together with the city council, led the blessing and inauguration of the three additional wards in the Navotas City Hospital (NCH) on November 21. The 15-bed capacity wards are located at the lower ground floor of NCH. “It has been seven years since we opened our hospital to the public. As time passed, more and more people sought its services thus the need to continuously upgrade its facilities and equipment,” he added. Simultaneous with the blessing, the city hospital also held Kalusugan Check which included free eye check-up, HPV testing, and pelvic ultrasound. It also conducted diabetes lectures, RBS screening, visual education for diabetic patients, dietary advice, and PhilHealth Konsulta registration, screening and consultation. Aside from the additional computerized tomography (CT) scan for the Radiology Department, it will also have an automated laboratory and pathology services. The expansion will also allow the city hospital to meet the qualifications of a Level 2 Department of Health-accredited facility.
